Athletics

27.10.17

On Tuesday and Wednesday we had kauri Athletics.
A few challenges I faced were... the sprint races because I pulled a muscle but I did get in the finals, another challenge for me was the high jump and long jump.

My favourite event on the day was... the house sprints.

something I am proud of is...the house sprints and long jump.

Dance

13.6.17
In term 2 we did 2 dance routines, a hip hop routine and a cha cha routine. To combine different moves in the hip hop routine to treasure by Bruno Mars, and can't stop the feeling by Justin timberlake to the cha cha.

I loved it! I actually became a great dancer. the only problem was we had to dance with boys in the cha cha.

my favourite was the Hip hop routine it was really fun to dance to. I found the cha cha really challenging.

AVAILLL (reading)

27.10.17

In term 4, we are now doing AVAILLL instead of reading. We are still doing SML though.

Something I enjoyed is that we get to watch movies, and read subtitles at the same time. I like the activity's that we do.

I think we should still do AVAILLL because it is eduacational.

It teach's kids spelling, it teach's them reading and kids love it!

Integrated learning presentation

I have presented my narrative using story book maker online.
I worked by myself.
My narrative showed empathy by... the characters helping each other and welcoming each other.
The thing I enjoyed most about this learning was… I got to choose what I wanted to do it about.
Something I learnt about Myths and Legends was... that it can be true or made up.

Art Attack

22.8.17

WHAT?
For art attack my goal was to produce a piece of art related to our local landscape using either paint,
water colour or pastel.
With Mrs Marsh I learned about foreground, midground and background in landscapes.
With Mr Forman I learned about colour and complementary colours.
With Mr Rule I looked at the different landscape features of Canterbury and Banks Peninsula.

SO WHAT?

  • we used these techniques in pastel mix the colours and fill in all the white on the page.
  • I was proud of my art because I tried my best and I mixed the pastel colours.
  • I enjoyed mixing the colours and doing the lessons they were interesting.
  • we included features such as trees, flax, birds, mountains, hills and buildings.
  • I found it difficult to find the right colours for my art, and I found it hard to colour in with out mixing colours that I didn't want to mix.
  • I found it easy to draw the outline of the drawing.
  • in the teachers lessons with Mrs marsh I found out that, you can make a drawing look real with only using 3 tones, and that there is a foreground, midground, horizon and background.

NOW WHAT?

  • next time I would like to use watercolour
  • I would like to get better at drawing the foreground, midground, horizon and background.

if I had superpowers mine would be teleportation, being able to fly and invisibility.

Keeping ourselves safe

31.3.17

I am learning to make safe decisions

I am learning this because... we need to learn some strategies if someone comes and starts to
abuse you.

An example of a safe decision is...if someone pulls your pants\skirt down you can pull them up
and go to a duty teacher.

Reciprocal reading!

Everyone is expected to contribute.

Two areas I want to get better at are ...completing my cloze activity and ... being confident at
leading the reciprocal reading.

We have been learning language about ko au which
means me, myself and I.

Something I have learnt to say is... E hia o tau?
